What's the difference between
ROCKS, MINERALS, and CRYSTALS?
ROCKS are made of one or more minerals, and may not have a defined internal structure or chemical composition. They may also include organic material.
MINERALS are naturally occurring solids made up of one or more element. The molecule must have a definite chemical composition and make a specific internal structure. They are inorganic meaning that they aren't made of plant or animal.
Crystals are defined as any inorganic solid with a definite chemical structure. Therefore all minerals are crystals, and may crystallize differently under different conditions!
